I AM IN HELENA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hello. This is your son, Parker, I am turning 20 this week. WOW. I am going on 11 months in the mission field and ........... 6 months in HELENA. WHOWOOOOOWWHOSOHLsdf, Yep thats right I stayed baby. Elder JENSEN = SEE YA to Riverton, WY and I get Elder Lewis. Hes only been out 4 months and is coming from Worland, WY. He is the nicest kid I have ever met. So nice and quiet and complimentary. I honestly feel very blessed to have him and to help him progress and grow as a missionary. THe only thing I could do is love him once I noticed that the whole left side of his body has been, for lack of better words, crippled. He was born and had a stroke as a baby, which as a result, made the whole left side of his body weaker and more feeble than his right side. He wears a size 9 shoe on his left foot and size 11 on his right. He walks with a slight limp and He is awesome. Just has a big smile on his face in everything we do and has the biggest heart. I love him.
Well, I dont know what to say. Helena is the place for me. There are so many things going on. We rescheduled to have Rod and Lisa over at the Maddox's house for a dinner and lesson. It fell through last night but should be good for next Monday. We are eating tonight with Melissa B. Holli M and Marie M are planning to get their patriarchal blessings within the next month. Scott is getting ready to bless the sacrament. etc etc. Many good things have happened and many good things are to come.
We taught Mary B last night and it went awesome. The parents are awesome. They weren't very receptive but still sat in and listened and are all ok with Mary getting baptized. All we have to do is a set a baptismal date and things will be good.
A couple quick random things that you should know: first, Elder Goff is staying in Helena which is sweet but what isn't is his parents getting a divorce. He's pretty bummed about that. I am too. He's had a rough week. Elder Robison and Elder Moore got doubled out. Elder Moore went to Laurel to be with Elder Journey and Elder Robison went to Great Falls to be a Zone Leader. Elder Conway and Elder Coker came in. They are both over 230 lbs and could be named fat Albert. Elder Lanham is training and thats about it for our district.
Next thing is that we are giving the Boulder Branch over to 5th ward Elders because they are only covering one ward and we just stick with 1st and 3rd wards now. Bro Wear is Boulders new branch mission leader and Bro Palmer is now the Branch priesthood leader. I will take you guys to Boulder one day.
Speaking of Boulder, we went out to Basin last week, which is part of the Boulder Branch, to see what it was like. Basin is about 7 miles down the interstate from Boulder and is/was mainly a place for the far out people in the world to gather to. Lots of interesting folks, let me tell ya. i.e. Homosexuals, Felons, Nature lovers, etc. etc. It was plain weird, but an awesome experience. I probably almost got mauled by over 5 dogs in 5 hours. Its scary. You rattle peoples fences to see if they have any dogs and if none come around the back side of the house or from the doggy door then you go for it. But, sometimes the dogs dont come out even though you can see dog tracks all over the yard so you still just have to go for it. Then, when you knock at the door you pretty much hear a stampede of buffalo and next thing you know there is a pack of pit bulls about to kill you. Its crazy. I wish that they would jsut come out when you rattle the fence but for some reason they don't come out until you knock at the door.
The mission life is great though. Luke and John are pretty much out of the picture now. We got the Stiles family to church last sunday. Charlene H (the LA lady that we ran into) called us at 3:00 in the morning because she had canceled her appt earlier that day due to depression and stayed up until 3 debating whether or not she should invite us back. It scared me to death, waking up at three to a phone call and then to see her name on the caller ID. No way did I answer. It was just weird though.
Well thats all; I got for this week.
As always this week is going to be... so sick x2 (pound pound)
Elder P Heywood
