I want to know ASAP about the person who got called to Billings. Find out for me.
I just got Bens letter today right before I got on the computer. I think Atlanta is going to be a sweet mission. If I could pick somewhere else to serve I think it would be Arkansas, down south like Georgia or Alabama, or New York City. I think a mission like that would be sweet. If MT had more diversity like those places it would be the sweetest mission in the world. It is a rare occurence to see a person of another race in Montana.
I got Gabe’s letter too. Man, what a mission experience. Crazy. (Parker's friend, Gabe is serving in Concepcion Chile) Here’s our crazy mission experience: If I wrote out the whole thing it would be long. So here’s the short. We got a call on Saturday night from the other Elders to go check up on one of their recent converts who just got baptized. He is about 85 and just got of an assisted living place. They called us saying that, Louis (that’s his name) had called someone else telling that person that he wasn’t going to make it through the night. We were close by so we made the stop by. First obstacle: the apartments that he lives in can only be accessed with a key and/or buzzing IN to a tenant. I started pushing all the different buttons and finally someone buzzed to let us in. They were probably wondering where their visitor was. anyway, we run up to his room on the 4th floor (PS we knew where he lived and everything because we had moved him in about 2 weeks earlier) and knocked on his door. It was dark and no answer. The door was unlocked so we went in expecting a dead man on the floor or something and there was no one to be seen. Second obstacle: the lights didn’t go on in the house and we started yelling for him. We searched around and finally heard a groan from one of the rooms and went in and found him lying down. THE END I guess he had been having some jolts in his heart and was feeling weak. He had low blood sugar levels and was kind of out of it but ended up being ok. Within the next 5 minutes a nurse showed up and some other church members. We gave him a quick blessing and it was all good. the worst part was answering the phone that was ringing off the hook and people talking to me demanding to know WHO ARE YOU and WHERE IN THE ?$#@ is LOUIS? That’s my mission story for the week.
Actually, another good one: We were contacting some LA members of our ward and we happened to be at the right place at the right time. Her name is Desa 'Deesuh' O and she has a 10 year old daughter named Jillian. It Basically went like this: Hey do you guys want to baptize my daughter? What do you think of that Jillian? Jillian says, "Sure" Desa says, "When can you guys come and teach us" "what time is church?" "Alright, see ya then." Pretty Sweet cakes huh?
We also had a lesson with DO last night. One of the trailer park guys. He is progressing. Just slower than we'd like him to. He's pretty much a big white giant with biceps the size of a small Volkswagen wagon? whatever. Just kind of like that book we read in high school with George and Ernie? something like that. "I want to pet the puppies George" Yep kind of like that. He was telling us some crazy stories. Wow. He is pretty sweet, Even though by the end of our lesson he has halfway filled up a gatorade bottle with spit from his chew. We are all Children of God though. The Gospel is like a giant ship that has seats that can fit anyones butt size. No matter who you are the Gospel can help and take you where you want and should be.
All other investigators are doing good. we need to continue to find people. Lots of things are changing in our mission too. We had the big guns come up from Salt Lake to a leadership meeting and gave us some good counsel. Cant wait for General conference.
Thank-you for all the wonderful bright white short sleeve shirts. I am going to be the prettiest girl at the ball.
One more question. Did the reflections of Christ people come out with new DVD? yes or no. You can take money out of my account if they did because I want it.
LOVE ME DO. I was going to write some other stuff down but I forgot about it. I wrote it all down but left my planner at home.

Hola mi familia...
It is wonderful to hear from the wonderful land of AZ.
I really want to read that talk by Elder Oakes. Sounds awesome. I have a talk that I got by Bro Jackson (a member of the ward here from Mesa who went to school with Beth Schield) that he got on his mission that was given by a GA at amissionary zone conference back in the 70s. It talks about some very deep doctrines. The kind of talk that you would read and research only if you were on a mission. I will get a copy of it and send it to you guys. Youll have to tell me what you think.
I was also wondering...... maybe....... if you could...... send......... maybe......... some ...... short sleeve white shirts. I dont have any and its starting to get warm. The last couple of weeks have been in the 50s. Almost all the snow is melted of the ground. Let me know what you think on my proposition.
NOW FOR THE INVESTIGATORS: The Eternigator decided, FINALLY, that she wanted to get baptized!! whoo whoo. The only problem is that she wants to get baptized after I will leave. She and some other members of the ward didnt want to have to baptism without me so they called Pres Gardner and talked to him about letting me stay and extra couple of weeks. He pretty much said "no" so I guess I am going to miss her baptism. Remember the "sleeping giant?" Well we taught her and her non member husband. Went well. Husband said that for him it was just a matter of "WHEN" rather than "IF." I was pretty stoked about that. The only problem with teaching some people is that They feel this urge to share all of their deepest darkest secrets and concerns with the missionaries. It gets kind of weird sometimes and the awkwardness level goes through the roof but, hey... what can I do? They love me. Maybe I should be a counselor and work for LDS family services. There are two of those guys here in Helena and I dont think i would mind doing what they do. Next up at bat are Rod and Lisa. I love them to death but ROd has just got some issues with things. He is kind of the keystone to the whole family. If we cant get him to go, no one goes. and that is how everything is. It seems like everyone is sick too. Megan Mesa, Brian and Isabel, etc etc aka some of our most promising investigators have been a little under the weather. Its been hard on us. Wer are teaching and finding all these people and no one comes to church. What the flippity flip man? We have been really blessed though. Still working with lots of less actives and doing good. We are getting along and My patience is growing stronger. Remember what we talked about right before I left home about having no patience with certain types of people? Its all good though. Nothing to worry about. Things are goood.
I hope you guys get to meet the Mckeans one day and the Alsburys. Two of my favorite familes. Look for an email from Janet wilkins. She is going to send you a picture.
I thought you would be proud of me if I told you that some of the ladies in the ward have helped us out with working the coupon system. They gave us some coupons that allowed me to buy 5 boxes of cinnamon life and 5 boxes of instant oatmeal for 5 bucks. A savings of 38 dollars. Do I make you proud?
RECENT CONVERT News: I dont think i ever told you that the Atchleys were housing the missionaries in POLSON now did I? well they are. Tell the Burninghams hi for me.
I got some training for Jared: Alright Bear. I am going to give you some questions that you have to answer as if I was an investigator. Have them all answered and back to me by next monday. They will start off easy.
1) I have the Bible and need no more of the word of God. Why do I need the Book of Mormon if it says in Revelations that "if anyone shall add or take from these things... the plagues and calamties that are in this book shall come upon your head" ( i didnt qoute the scripture exactly but I hope you get ths jist of it)
2) Why at the end of Jacob would it say "Adieu?"
to be continued....
See you in one year!! haha EPHEYWOOD

Well....the big news is this:
I had 4 Transfers in Helena which means 24 weeks. approx. 6 months. I have now had two, 6 month areas: POLSON and HELENA. We got the transfer calls last Friday which tells us who is getting moved. Elder Brooks, the missionary who called asked us who we thought was leaving and we all gave our answers, etc, etc. The suspense was killer and then he said that only ONE of us was leaving out of 8 missionaries in our district. The missionary who got transferred was not me. It was Elder Goff. That means that I am staying in Helena for 5 Transfers, 30 weeks, approx. 7.5 months!! Whoo Whoo! Let me tell YOU, it was pretty scary! (AMD) Only two areas and I’ve been out for a year.
These last couple of days have been depressing for Elder Goff and myself. This has been one of his favorite places and the whole ward loves him. I guess they sang God Be With You Til We Meet Again on Sunday for the poor guy. He is getting transferred to Lander, WY.
I talked to Elder Journey the other day and he goes home in May. That is so weird that someone I’ve served with goes home in a little while. Elder Tanner goes home in June. I talked to him the other day and he said he went through Polson and got to see some people.
This last Saturday night we went out to Townsend to the Gospel sing where a bunch of different denominations get together and sing Gospel music. Was alright. Not the best. Lots of old people that think they have good voices sing so... you know how that goes. Plus, its gospel music. We spent the night in Townsend with all 8 elders in the same house. I slept on a recliner, worst sleep ever. Never sleep on one. Sunday morning we got a ride with one of the high councilors from Townsend to our Ward Conference in Helena. It went pretty well.
Lots of things I learned. Then, last night we had stake priesthood meeting that we were supposed to sing at but it didnt work out so we just had Elder Lanham play the piano. It was a very spiritual day. You should start writing your thoughts down during sacrament meeting and those things and see what comes of your jots and tittles at the end of the day. There’s some good stuff.
Well... Were getting rushed off again. Maybe next week I will be able to write more about our investigators. They’re doing goood. I am planning on giving that Reflections CD to a recent convert so hope you don’t mind. Let me know about the Tsunami that was supposed to hit Hawaii etc. I heard that it was a lot smaller than they thought it was going to be.
LOVE ME DO.
Elder Plheywood.
I got some Training for Jare Bear in my next email.

Hey ba bay.,,
Nice mid life crisis dad. We were at a pawn shop today and there were some sweet leather jackets. I was thinking of buying one for big daddy but it was out of my range. I dont think it would have fit that bike though. The jacket I found was more for a Harley.
Sounds like things are good. Is that Nick kid the one who is the car guy? Hes got a mustang or two? By the Richardsons? cool.
Ive got a couple of comments for you guys: I forgot but, Elder Wells, from AZ, was looking at some of the wedding pics of Katie and Aaron and said he knew the sister in-law? He went to Westwood High. Elder Davis is from Queen Creek and went to Queeen creek high. Mitch Davis is his name. I bet you know people who would know him. He graduated 09. He is new. Also and Elder Stewart from Gilbert who went to Higley High. Said he knew the willis family.
Some things that are happening this week: We are teaching Mary tonight at her house after we have dinner with her and her family. Also, with her convert older brother who will be putting in his mission papers in the next week. Should be (pound pound) so sick. She has already made up her mind that she will be getting baptized in May and there's nothing I can do about it. My time is about up in Helena. This is the last week of the transfers and I could possibly, and most likely will be writing to you guys in a new area this coming Monday. Scary.
I learned a lot this last week. MOm, you said you wanted some daily insights or weekly insights from your son on a mission. I've been really good at writing in my journal and recording down my thoughts. I will see what I can do.
LAST WEEK: We found 3 new investigators and they all have wonderful potential. MEGAN: she had a friend that just got baptized in one of the other wards a couple weeks back and we taught her twice last week. Shes loving it. She also saw us at Ross this morning and we talked to her for a while. SHE is awesome. Has one kid and just got out of a really abusive/life threating relationships. Comment: I think this is just montana but, it seems like back home no one was ever on oxygen or taking pillls for everything or in government housing. I dont know if thats just me being out in the world or MOntana but that jsut seems like Montana to me. KEITH: He is from Guyana? He is a contractor here in town and talks exactlly like Raffiki from Lion King. He's the man but we dont think he will go too far. THE MORRISONS: We tried contacting another LA lady the other day and some dude answered the door and says, "come on in" We did. We started talking with him and asked him if he knew the lady we were trying to contact. He said he didn't. Surprised by letting us in we then asked if he was a member. He said he wasnt. In the End, he told us that he had investigated in the past and was waiting for the missionaries to show up again but never had until we did. The only two bad things are: They have been meeting with that Jehovahs Witnesses and....they watch BIG LOVE. Great. HE told us that the J dub thing wasnt a big deal though. He just can't say no to people at his doorstep and actually expresed that he was glad wes showed up. He said we were there to save him. A drunk native man stopped and harassed us for an hour or so last week, that was good and bad. I got my Bull Whip and whipped my self in the Back. Huge Welt. We have been teaching this LA guy and he gave me a sweet genuine rabbit fur hat. Best Gift Ever.
Welp right now, we are going to go cut up a Buffalo.
THATS ALL I GOT FOR NOW. I just want to give a shout out to all my fans: Allison W (I just heard she is a fan but doesn't want to be a wife), my mom, my dad, my dog, Gigi, Gpa and Gmas, and thats it.

Happy Valentine's Day!
Thanks for the big valentines lovin'. I actually got a heart with a scripture on it at church from the relief sociey president, so, that was good.
Sorry I didnt get to write more last week. Things were all goofy. Same this week. Holidays are good for everyone except for misisonaries. The libraries arent open, people dont want to listen to the Gospel, dogs pee on your beds... horrible. Especially when returned missionaries are talking about their girl experiences. not good.
We went to an abandoned train tunnel the other day that was a about a mile and a half long. You will have to see the pics. The whole tunnel was iced over.
A comment on KATHY, praying she is ok, let me know. I need her as my only blog fan. Anyway, you can let her know that if there is polygamy in heaven that she can be one of my other wives.
Lots to report on for last week and this week. To finish off my story from last week, THe lady that called us said that she was a little flustered that Elder West forgot to mention her in the prayer that she would be watched over and protected, blessed, etc, etc. Like I said she called the other week and left a lenghty message about how she was, "a little hurt" by it. (hopefully as I write this she doesnt get onto the internet and find my blog) Anyway, I called her back and told her that Elder West forgot her name otherwise he would have mentioned her in the prayer. After I explained that, everything was fine and she was happy. Little did we know that we had awaken a sleeping Giant. So... this is how the story goes... This Lady, she who must not be named but was already named in the last email that I sent home so she has already been named but wont be named again, has a little more of an issue than we thought. I think I told you that she called us at 300 in the morning a couple weeks back because she couldnt get our appt off her mind. Well Im here to inform you that, THE SLEEPING GIANT STRUCK AGAIN!! (shes actually skinny) She called us about 5 days ago at 2:30am! I look at the phone because I thought it was about time to wake up but then realized that It Was freakin 200 o clock in the freakin morning! I did not answer the phone. I wonder what she thinks. Hmmm its 2 in the morning, I should probably call the missionaries... What in the world? She told us that she was having some problems but we didnt know she was going to be calling us in the middle of the night. She called us at about 6 THIS morning to inform us that she didnt sleeep because 3 people over at her house was going to be too many people. At least she's thinking about us and I love her regardless.
On top of the sleeping Giant, things were pretty good. We have a couple new investigators and had an awesome week contacting PMF and LAs. Should have some good lessons this week and see what comes from them. I will finish writing more next week. Things are good and the Gospel is true.

So Sory
Hey Guys. Monday was a busy day so I didn't email. We had zone Conf yesterday in Bozeman so I didn't email then. So. I am emailing you guys today. WEEEE
Lots to write with little time.
Our Accounts switched over to a google account. They assigned me a random email address so my email will no longer be parkerlh@.... but parker.heywood@new.myldsmail.net I think. you will just have to see what the return address is.
Sounds like the week went great. Lots of law enforcement doesn't hurt anyone. I want to see pics of Dads bike. Whatever happeneed to getting a new truck?
Sorry. Now im really going to have no time to write. I had to help E. Lewis sign on to his new account. I am working on patience this week.
This last week I smelt like cigs and beer and cat pee for the whole week. It was the best ever. I can't wait for another week of pee peee. That reminds me. Bro. Barretts dog, Tigger, slipped down stairs last week to see what all the commotion was. I closed the door as I headed downstairs behind him. The dog got all excited about everyone downstairs so he bolted up the stairs to meet a closed door. Bang! he fell back down the stairs and then ran back into my bedroom ending up wetting all over the bed. Best day of my life. Dog pee on my bed.
Sorry 5 minutes left and they don't let us log back on.
We found 2 new investigators this week. Isabel R and her BF Brian Z. We have a lesson with them today in 30 minutes. It should go well. Isabel is a member and Brian is not. The other investigator that we got last week was Bob H, Husband to Charlene, the Lady who called us at 3 in the morning. We had kept in touch and she told us that she jsut wasn't ready to have us come over. But, last Wednesday we were going to be in the area so I decided to bug her about coming over again. Of course she said no, but about 2 hours later she called and said yes and also that her husband was going to be home so we could teach him as well. We were on team ups with the zone leaders by the way. I took Elder West over there and we got to know them and share a couple principles and what not then set up a return appt, sang a hymn and a had a closing prayer. Elder West forgot her name so included everyone in the prayer except for her. (the only one that is having problems. go figure) we were at lunch with a little old hunchbacked lady the next day and I get a call from Charlene. I didn't answer though. AFter lunch I listened to the voicemail... sorry finish my story next week. I'm out.

I'm out.

Hey. Just got done playing some basketball with all the old brodios that work for the state. good time.
BEST THING I LEARNED THIS WEEK: "Service is like peeing your pants, everyone can see it but only you can feel the warmth."
We got some good snow. not a lot. News on the street is that Phoenix got snow? I heard Phoenix had 18 inches on the ground. I dont think so but I dont know.
Things were good last week. Talked to lots of crazy people and found some good potential investigators. I guess the new big thing to smoke around here is called skunk bud. Ive walked up to about 5 trailers (note: not houses, but trailers) now on my mission and have always looked for a skunk because it smells like peppy le pue has been hangin around. Ive come to the conclusion that people just dont have pet skunks or skunk infested trailers. We got told that they're smokin dope. yep. smokin that skunk bud. good stuff.
Couple other questions: Elder Davis is new in our district and he comes from Queen Creek, AZ. Dont know if you know him mom. You know everybody. He went to Queen Creek High School if that helps you out any on you quest. Next: Elder lewis wants to know if we know any Welch's. Next: My birthday is already done. why are you sending me cards? Next: Comment: thankyou for the CDs. I was getting bored of mormon tabernacle. Next: Who's Danas Valentine? Next: When's the baby due?
Last night we had a very good fireside from our stake presidency on "Reaching Out to the Lost Sheep." It was really good. Hopefully get some of those lazies to start doing missionary work.
Welp.... We have another lesson with Mary tonight with her and her family. That should be great. We will probably set a baptismal date with her. Melissa B is trying to get her girls to come to church with her and doing awesome. Holli M gets her patriarchal blessing in 20 days. Earl and Emy wrote me and go to the temple in about 4 months. WOW. Elder Lewis and I spoke in Sacrament meeting and I did something that I've never done before. Scared me to death. Rod and Lisa are hot and cold. They will probably not be baptized before I leave Helena. Jordan H = long story. Poor girl. she is so close to getting baptized. Luke C = praying to know what to do with that guy. He is in a rut. We found two new investigators last week. They work for a guy in our ward in one of the trailer parks that he maintains. A guy named Bill and a Guy named Dusty. They are pretty sweet and I think theya are recovering past transgressions. They work all day, every day in the trailer court that Bro Stratton owns so we just go into whatever trailer they're working in that day and sit down and teach while they paint or clean or whatever they are doing for the day. Dusty has a huge scar on his right wrist from punching through one of those skinny windows on a door while he was drunk. It almost killed him because it burst one of the main arteries in the wrist. The scar turned out to be in the shape of a cross so he said its his personal reminder for him not to do anything stupid anymore. Good ole Montana. Never meet someone who doesnt have an interesting story. Can't wait to baptize the big guy.
Other than that everything is great. Work is moving forth and we have some good plans for this week. What am I saying... we always have a good week. its gonna be... pound pound.. so sick.
LOVE Yer SUN.
